How to take a screenshot in Microsoft Windows

You can easily take a screenshot in windows. All you have to do is to follow these simple steps below.

Step one: Taking a Full Window screenshot.

using your keyboard press "Printscreen" or its normally labeled "PrntScr" button.



After pressing the button, the sreenshot is saved to the clip board.  You now have to page the image in a program  so that you save or edit it.
In this case we are using paint on microsoft windows. You can open paints by searching for it on your computer.

When the program opens press Ctrl + V to paste the image or click paste in paint as shown below. The screen will appear and you can save it or further edit it. You can save it as a PNG file.



To save click the File Tab 
You can select the file format you want.



After saving, you can send or share your image.

Note: You can also paste the screenshot in other programs, such as Microsoft word.

Step two: Directly save a screenshot

You can directly save the screenshot into a folder without pasting it in a program.
Press the "windows button + Printscr" buttons.



It will be saved in the Pictures Library, in a folder called screenshots. It will be saved as a PNG file.

Step Three: To take a screenshot of an active window 

Click on the window whose screenshot you want to take and the hold down the Alt key and the PrntScr button.

No confirmation will be given, the image will save on the clipboard . The dimensions of the image will depend on the size of the active window.

 You can then paste it in a program.
